 MY STORY

I blame filmmaking for the reason why I've become so compulsively obsessed with my crafts. Why is my mother tearing up over watching Mrs. Doubtfire? Is there a reason for checking my blinds after watching Exorcist? Why do I always get chills down my spine when Luke Skywalker pulls out his lightsaber? It was these questions that had created such an immense interest.

From there I knew it had something to do with the writing. So at the age of fifteen years old and two hundred pages in, I attempted to write my first novel. Realizing just how trash it was, I had lost it years ago.

But I didn't stop there.

From that point, I wanted to learn how they put the movies together, so I began learning how to edit with the easiest way I could possibly access footage: Playing video games and re-scripting them to make them comedic. I had done this for a while until I turned eighteen from there I went to college with the goal of taking any course I possibly could that would help me solidify my knowledge of filmmaking. I had taken nearly every literature course at Edmonds College and graduated with my associate. From that point I transferred to the University of Washington with a new goal: To learn every possible aspect of production I could.

During my time at the University of Washington, I was part of a total of 3 professional productions. It doesn't sound like a lot because it wasn't. Unfortunately due to the school's lack of art department, I was forced to turn to something else. It was at this point I invested my time into creating something very, very special: The truest form of horror non-fiction; My series titled Existence in Silence where I travel around the country documenting and vlogging torturously dangerous locations all conspiratorially, spiritually, and physically. It was this series that gave me new knowledge about production: videography, photography, producing, directing, researching, media identifying, and helped solidify the concept of who Anthony Safai was.

I am not an artist, I am Safaii Creatiive.
